If you are experiencing difficulties accessing a service from outside the UWA network, consult the following common issues and errors.
Error messages
- "The UWA number and Pheme password was incorrect. Please try again."
- Your UWA number is your Person ID as identified on your UWA Campus Card - attempt to access the resource again, and re-enter your correct details. Your Pheme password can be verified online. If the problem persists, please contact your subject library and they can verify if the information on your Campus Card matches your current patron record.
- "Your browser appears not have cookies enabled."
- This service requires cookies to be turned 'on' in your browser. You must answer 'yes' when offered a cookie from this site. Consult the help service provided in your web browser on how to turn on cookies.
- "Access denied" when I click on a link in the Library catalogue"
- The resource you are attempting to use has restricted access, but is not currently offered via the authenticated access service. You cannot connect to this resource from outside the UWA Network - access is only available if you are connected to the UWA IT network.
- "Invalid Patron Type. You are not authorized for access to this database."
- Licensing and copyright restrictions require us to limit the availability of this resource. You must be a current UWA student or staff member to access this resource. If you are not a current UWA student or staff member then you can do nothing to access the resource remotely. If you are a current UWA student or staff member and are receiving this message, contact your subject library. Be sure to leave your name, barcode and contact details so we can resolve the problem and get back to you.
- "The authentication system is down, please try again later."
- Your UWA number and barcode are verified against your UWA Library catalogue patron record. In the event the library catalogue is unavailable, remote login attempts will fail. Try again later, or contact your subject library to report the problem.
- "Patron Expired. Our records indicate that your library card has expired."
- If your UWA Campus Card is not valid, login attempts will fail. UWA Library patron records have an expiry date in the system, usually the start of the next academic year (February). Contact your subject library to confirm your UWA enrolment status.
