University Policy on: Student Internet Quota Policy

Purpose of the policy and summary of issues it addresses:

The purpose of this policy is to provide all students with limited free Internet access primarily for the purpose of using resources and materials related to their coursework/research that are available via the Internet.

Definitions:

Policy statement:

All students are entitled to 1.6GB of free Internet quota per annum.

In addition, Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students are entitled to an additional 400MB of free Internet quota per annum.

Students can purchase additional Internet quota at a cost of $6.60 (GST inclusive) per GB.

Students can be sponsored by Faculties for additional Internet quota.

IS will provide and manage students' free Internet quota and any additional purchased quota exclusively.

The Student Internet Support Office (SISO) will be the primary contact for all queries relating to Internet quotas and requests to purchase additional quota.

The free Internet quota will commence on 3 rd March 2008.
