'Green' Information Services

Information Services uses recycled paper in all copiers and printers. The paper is manufactured from 100 per cent post-consumer waste (collected from office waste). In addition, we provide a free scanning service on all library copiers.

All copiers can be set to copy on both sides, and the two pages into one option is linked directly from the copier display. We recycle all copier and printer toner cartridges and provide paper recycling bins.

UWA students can use any of the 100+ student allocated printers located throughout the UWA subject libraries and general purpose computer labs across Faculties.

Print your documents from any student allocated PC in libraries or general purpose computer labs, or from your own laptop connected to Unifi. Your documents will be held for up to 12 hours in a secure global queue for you to printout using your Campus Card at any student allocated printer across campus.

There are also facilities for scanning to USB, e-mail or your network folder.

Paying for printing

UWA staff and students can use their Campus Card to print and photocopy in any library.

Members of the public can buy a transaction card for $5 from one of the autoloaders located in each library. Note that autoloaders do not give change.

The cost of copying and printing is deducted from credit you have added to your Campus or transaction card through an autoloader.

Adding value to your card

Pheme account holders can check their Campus Card Account's activity and add value to it using Visa and MasterCard credit cards only, by visiting http://www.campuscard.uwa.edu.au. Simply login with your Pheme credentials to access this service.

Autoloaders are located through the UWA subject libraries and can add credit via cash (coins and notes) or via EFTPOS.

To add credit to your card, follow the instructions on the autoloader. Remember that autoloaders do not give change so don't put a $20 note in the machine if you want only a dollar's worth of credit added.

Using your card to print

Printing Terminal

  1. After you have added credit to your card you are ready to use the copiers and printers.  Each printer and copier has a terminal attached to it.  Wave your card over the right-hand side (above the words ‘TAG YOUR CARD HERE') and you will be logged into the device.
  2. Select "Print" and then choose the print job you want to release and press print.
  3. You will see the price displayed as if you were printing on a colour printer, even though you may be planning on using a black and white printer.  If you do use a black and white printer, you’ll only be charged black and white prices.
  4. All copiers copy and print in both mono and colour, and can scan to to email or to your network home directory.
